Queen's Head

Golden Paw

A 17th-century coaching inn in Troutbeck with a proper welcome for dogs — inside at any table, water bowl on arrival, and biscuits behind the bar. The food is serious too: locally sourced, seasonal and genuinely good. One of the best pub lunches in the Lakes.

Wateredge Inn

Golden Paw

Right on the shores of Windermere with a dog-friendly bar, terrace and beer garden. Dogs welcome inside throughout. Lovely spot for a long lunch after a morning walk — the terrace views are hard to beat.

Dog & Gun

Silver

Keswick's most dog-friendly pub — the name says it all. Dogs welcome throughout, good honest pub food, and a warm welcome even when your dog is wet and muddy from the fells. A solid base for any Keswick day.

Sticklebarn

Silver

A National Trust pub at the foot of the Langdale Pikes — perfectly placed for post-walk food and drinks. Dogs welcome throughout. Gets very busy on weekends; arrive early or book ahead.

Punch Bowl Inn

Silver

A Michelin-recommended inn in the Lyth Valley with a genuinely dog-friendly dining room. Dogs welcome in the bar and certain dining areas — call ahead to confirm on the day. Excellent food, relaxed atmosphere.
